About the Owner
Katrina Alkinburg, Owner and Founder
Katrina Alkinburg brings more than 30 years of educational teaching experience to her role as founder and owner of The Learning Curve. Since beginning her career as a special education teacher in 1983, Katrina has accumulated a wealth of experience including designing behavior modification programs for students with disabilities, mentoring new teachers and piloting new reading and math programs.
After retiring from teaching, Katrina realized the need for tutoring children who were struggling academically and in 2002 founded The Learning Curve.
Katrina is a member of the International Reading Association (IRA) and Education Industry Association (EIA).

About Our Educators
All the educators at The Learning Curve are certified teachers or certified paraprofessionals with extended certifications. All staff members have at least 4 years of experience working in a classroom setting. Each staff member has a specialty area, which is matched to meet each student’s needs.
